Meet your Advisor!

Hi there! My name is Morgan Smith and I am the Academic Advisor for the Sociology Department. I've been at UIUC since March of 2021 in various places across campus, and working in higher education since May 2018. My background is in Communication Studies with several different areas that I focused on: gender, race, and identity issues; social justice, human rights, and conflict transformation; diversity and equity issues within study abroad programming. As a first-generation student, I am passionate about experiences of belonging and taking ownership of your educational adventure. Outside of work, I enjoy my boxing club, hiking, kayaking, local shows/performances, and taking tons of pictures of my miniature dachshund, Moo. I am excited to work with you and see where your journey at UIUC takes you!
